Fundraising event set to take place for Larry the Downing Street pet cat
An exclusive quiz night is to take place to increase funds for the proper care of 10 Downing Street’s Official Mouser, Larry.
The price of looking after Larry has, so far been paid for by David Cameron’s staff, after he was announced a community moggy whom is owned by Downing Street, as opposed to a family pet or perhaps an expense to the taxpayer.
The fundraising event is going to take place in the State Rooms at Number ten, to raise cash for the price of Larry’s food and also cat supplies, and will have a unique cat themed quiz round.
Larry was brought in to trap mice and also rats at the PM’s house, after a number of rodents had been noticed scuttling in the background of live news reports. He was from Battersea Dogs and cats Home, and even though it took him some time to land his very first catch, he has now settled into life at the well known house.
He’s also rumoured to have got himself a special lady cat, as he has been seen spending time with Maisy who lives within the keeper’s cottage in St James’ Park! Larry has long been neutered, so there will certainly not be any kittens.
A spokesperson for the Royal Parks said: “The Park Manager confirms that Larry does make trips to visit Maisy. The two appear to be content with each other’s company, sometimes enjoying meals together.”
